What now?

Some ideas how you can help to promote Public Health Literacy:

  1. Approach local schools about including public health literacy curriculum in their K - 12th grades

  2. Share Hooper’s Hope with friends and discuss the apparent messages (e.g. What is “Science?” What is “Public Health Science?” How do we distinguish reliable from UNreliable personal and community health information on the internet and on TV? How do we utilize reliable information?)

  3. Follow the recommendations of your local Health Department regarding measures to protect the health of your community

  4. Consider the evidence-based public health implications of your daily routines

  5. Support community development that promotes science-based community wellness and vote accordingly
